The thick vegetation of the jungle engulfed them as they descended more, transporting them to a world apart from modern society. The rich smells of greenery and earth were mixed with a heavy veil of dampness in the air. Everything seemed louder, even the sounds of birdsong in the distance and the rustle of leaves beneath your feet. The jungle was enormous and terrifying at the same time; it was a wild place with many secrets.
