Drug Use

A 2012 study found that children with a high IQ grow up to use illegal drugs as adults. “In our large population-based cohort study, IQ at 11 years was associated with a greater likelihood of using selected illegal drugs 31 years later,” wrote researchers James W. White, Catharine R. Gale, and David Batty. They concluded by saying, “in contrast to most studies on the association between childhood IQ and later health, a high childhood IQ may prompt the adoption of behaviors that are potentially harmful to health (i.e., excess alcohol consumption and drug use) in adulthood.”

Quiet And Observant

Although many people speak loudly and always draw attention to themselves, it is starting to seem that a brilliant person is quite the opposite. Instead of boasting about all their accomplishments or speaking about their opinions, they are typically quiet and observant. They have the capacity to take everything in instead of contributing. This contributes to being able to see things that others have missed, like subtle patterns.
