During her career, she rejected the Marilyn Monroe-style of a blonde sex symbol as she thought it would put a limit to what she could do as an actress. However, she did become a sex symbol, just in her own style.

Swedish actress and singer, Britt Ekland became a staple in the 1960’s and 1970’s, starring in many critically-acclaimed films. She was the lead female and also earned the sex symbol title in the movie Get Carter, released in 1971. However, it seemed that Eland wasn’t always the beauty that we know her to be. In some of her interviews, she said that she was an unattractive child. She said, “I was very heavy. God, I was brutal-looking. I always tried to be funny to make up for the fact that I was fat and ugly.”
