Sheldon’s Life In The Shelter

Sheldon was sad when he first arrived at the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control, as he is with many abandoned and stray creatures. It was clear that he had grown up in a household that was concerned about him. He was able to sit at will and even offered his paw. Somebody must have given him certain tactics and behavioral instructions in the past. Nobody came to find him once he arrived at the shelter, though. With his sad and introverted appearance, he was left alone, unadopted, and he didn’t appear to be social. He wasn’t a “mean” dog or a “bad” dog. He just didn’t stick out with all the masses of 600-800 other animals, and he’d shortly been at the shelter for a month, without adoption or owner retrieval.

Sheldon Was Noticed

Sheldon was unwelcomed and unclaimed by the majority of people, but one individual saw him. Heather Haltmeyer, a volunteer, was keeping an eye on Sheldon, and it bothered her that he had gone undiscovered for so long. He’d remained there for another 30 days, so he’d been there for a total of 90 days, and no one had shown any interest in adopting or caring for him. There are a few animals that stand out above the rest. They appear to only require a little assistance and probably a little more attention than the others. In order for Sheldon to stand out, she stepped in and offered her assistance in any way she could.
