Dawn Acton was cast as Tracey Barlow on Coronation Street when she was a teenager, and she did an excellent job in the role from 1988 to 1999. She left the show at the age of 22, after becoming a new mother and raising her child. Dawn has largely vanished from the acting scene, but she continues to entertain people as a DJ for the past 15 years and is well-known in Manchester. She lives there with her adolescent son and her musician partner.
