Let’s be real, there are tons of smoothie recipes out there but here’s the thing, you shouldn’t just throw a bunch of ingredients together! Although, that’s pretty much a given, right? When you create a recipe with specific ingredients, not only are you ensuring that it’ll taste delicious but it’ll be healthy for you too. Thanks to Fitness Magazine, we got our hands on the ultimate smoothie recipe. Take a look below as we’ve added five specific ingredients below that you need to throw into the mixture – ASAP.
Banana: Bananas have fiber, potassium, and vitamin B6 – all together, this helps to support your bone, kidney, and cardiovascular health.
Ginger: Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties but more than that, it is also an amazing digestive tract soother.
Almond Butter: Almonds add protein and release various minerals, such as magnesium and manganese. Both of which help to protect against cardiovascular disease, curb hunger, and may help with weight loss. Sounds pretty darn good to me!
Hemp Seeds: Hemp seeds are an incredible source of plant-based protein and not just because they’re easy to digest. See, they have omega-3 fatty acids which are able to provide anti-inflammatory benefits – yes, please.
Water: Instead of using coconut water, a high-calorie juice, or highly processed nut milk, use water as a base. Not only will this help you save calories, but it’ll also hydrate your cells and even support your digestive system. Water, who would have thought, eh? Kidding, kidding.
Almond Ginger Monkey Smoothie
2 frozen bananas
1-inch piece of ginger, peeled
1 tablespoon organic raw almond butter or 1/4 cup raw almonds
3 tablespoon hemp seeds
2 cups water
Simple place all of the ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. Then, of course, sip away and enjoy!
